• The supplier with the better delivery track record ranks higher

• Materials can be as much as 70% of total construction project cost (Hamppi, Joni 2025) - procurement decisions carry real financial weight
• Late delivery is a well-documented cause of project schedule overruns
• Construction procurement teams want to factor delivery reliability into supplier selection - they just don’t have access to systematic delivery data. You do.

Note (2026-07-23): removed an unsourced “10-15% margin cost on affected variations” figure - could not verify it, and removed a “materials = 40%” figure that conflicted with our own verified 70% figure elsewhere (Hamppi thesis). Kept the qualitative argument, which doesn’t need the specific numbers to land.
